DESIGN ROOM MANAGER


This company designs and distributes luxury womenswear to the local and international market and they are looking for a Design Room Manager to join their management team.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record as a Design Room Manager managing a design team. The key focus of the role will be to organise the design team and give strong leadership across all aspects of the design process.

You will collaborate with the Creative Director, design , production and freelance patternmakers to develop new products for the seasonal collections.

Responsibilities include:
:: Concepting the collection with the Creative Director
:: Creation of design calendar in line with the critical path.
:: Manage Development budgets
: :Tracking time lines and designers work flow
:: Sign off all pre production samples
:: Working with the design team to meet international sales requirements
:: Trend forecasting & competitor awareness
:: Provide work flow for design team

Key personal criteria:
:: Strong technical knowledge coupled with an understanding of industry approved quality control standards and procedures
:: Impeccable follow-up, attention to detail and organization skills to manage design/ technical staff
:: Effective technical communication skills
:: Proven track record in timeline management and working in a creative and dynamic environment
:: Strong computer skills
:: Experience in the high end of WW apparel will be highly regarded
