RETAIL PLANNER & ANALYST

Working closely with the Head of Planning, Buyers and Logistics Manager of this long-established Australian Retailer - you will be knowledgeable in all Retail Merchandise Planning activities across all categories to drive sales and achieve gross margin and inventory goals. The role is quite autonomous in its approach and will see you implement strategies with strategic analysis of stores and product performance - recommending improvement areas by category.

You will be supported by an Allocator, however, will manage all aspects of Merchandise Planning - including category management and product planning in line with product strategies to achieve agreed stock-turn, margin and GP targets

DUTIES:

  • Strategic planning, re-forecasting reporting and post seasonal analysis
  • Management of plans in line with OTB, budgets, Margins, pricing and stock
  • Effective management of categories - robust bottom up plans
  • Creation of initial assortment plans by product
  • Store assortments by grade
  • Core line planning
  • Owns and supports development of the OTB and option Plan by season / month / category
  • Markdown management
  • Ensuring any promotional activity or featured product is properly planned
  • Trade reporting and analysis

TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Strong career in retail merchandise planning - minimum 3-5 years
  • Actively participating in the ranging process
  • Proven track record in preseason planning, budgeting & forecasting, ordering, in season and post season management and analysis
  • Commercially driven - high / low strategy pricing & maximising profits through promos
  • Report building
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Adaptable & Inquisitive
  • An attitude that drives solutions and the ability to influence to drive a positive outcome
