Reporting to the Beach / Swimwear Designer, as the Assistant Designer, you are an integral part of the design team that has a fashion related degree, advanced skills in technical CAD work and hand illustrations. A fast-paced environment working with a range of materials, you have proven experience as a Design Assistant or Assistant Designer within the Fashion Industry. A background in Swim / Active wear advantageous.

THE ROLE

• Assist in trend forecasting and initial design research
• Sourcing fabrics/trims/accessories
• Maintenance of the Design board
• CAD and hand sketching development
• Creation of pattern maker sketches for tech packs
• Print manipulations
• Creation of presentations for collections
• Maintenance and quality control of samples
• Management of samples and adhere to standards for send outs
• Dispatch of sample ranges
• Colour CADs for placement garments
• Critical path management

REQUIREMENTS

• 2 years experience in a similar design role ESSENTIAL
• A Fashion Design degree from an Australian or International Institution
• Advanced skills in all Adobe Suite and Microsoft office
• Strong technical and hand illustration skills
• Experience communicating fits and understanding technical background of patterns and garments
