Leading Australian Online Retail Business | Apparel, Jewellery & Home
We are partnering with a leading Australian digital-first retail business to appoint a Head of eCommerce. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for a commercially driven eCommerce expert who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and enjoys balancing strategy with execution.
Predominantly online, the business operates across apparel, jewellery, and home. The Head of eCommerce will play a pivotal role in driving performance, customer experience, and digital growth through the next phase of business transformation. You will lead and optimise the full eCommerce ecosystem while working cross-functionally with marketing, creative, and trading teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive overall eCommerce performance, including revenue growth, conversion optimisation, and customer journey enhancement.
- Lead site trading strategy across key promotional and trading periods to maximise performance.
- Oversee and continuously optimise UX/UI, site experience, and on-site merchandising to drive engagement and conversion.
- Manage and evolve the customer journey across all digital touchpoints to improve acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
- Work closely with CRM and marketing teams to align lifecycle activity with trading and growth objectives.
- Partner with performance marketing and content teams to ensure alignment between acquisition activity and on-site experience.
- Analyse data, customer behaviour, and trading performance to identify opportunities for growth and optimisation.
- Drive best-practice eCommerce processes, reporting, and performance dashboards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the eCommerce team, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Support the broader leadership team through a period of growth and change, helping drive operational efficiency and digital innovation.
- Maintain a calm, solutions-focused approach in a fast-paced, always-on online retail environment.
About You
- Proven experience leading eCommerce within a high-volume online retail environment, ideally within fashion, lifestyle, or consumer-led categories.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving online sales, conversion, and digital growth.
- Deep understanding of customer behaviour, digital trading, and optimisation strategies.
- Highly data-driven with strong analytical and reporting capability.
- Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable operating both strategically and operationally.
- A confident and collaborative leader who can influence cross-functional teams.
- Resilient, adaptable, and thrives in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments.
- A strong understanding of consumer and online shopping behaviours is highly advantageous.
- Sydney-based, ideally Northern Beaches or north of the bridge.
