Job Description

Our client, a large-format franchise retailer, is seeking an experienced business executive to head up the recruitment of new franchisees.

The company

Established over 30 years ago, my client is an Australian owned company with a network of 47 highly successful and profitable franchise businesses across a number of states. Each franchise is independently owned and operated, with head office providing sales, marketing, design and business operations support. Investing in the growth of this network, they are now hiring a new Franchise Business Development Manager to drive further expansion on the East coast of Australia.

The role

Reporting to the General Manager, the prime focus of the role is recruitment of new franchise partners (approx. 4-6 annually). This is a highly autonomous role in a flat management structure.

Specifically, your time will be spent:

  • Marketing and Branding of franchising to people looking for a new business venture
  • Implementing the current franchisee recruitment process
  • Lead generation and responding to enquiries to maximise conversion rate
  • Relationship building with all stakeholders - potential franchisees, existing franchisees and Franchising team
  • Implementation of new store fit out with franchisees and company owned stores
  • Work closely with the Property and Leasing Manager
  • Regular travel between Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne

The person

  • Strong sales acumen with a solid track record of winning business
  • Great interpersonal skills - ability to work with people from different backgrounds and build relationships with multiple stakeholders. Happy to be on the ground talking with people
  • Long-term partnership mindset - focused on long-term feasibility, NOT just quick wins
  • Positive outlook, desire strong to grow business and encourage a team
  • Exposure to and experience in the franchise industry, either in a recruitment or management capacity, is a must
  • Working from a home base, this position can be based in Sydney or Melbourne
  • Willing and able to travel often as required
