Job Description

Role Purpose

The People Partner at Merivale is responsible for providing people related support, advice, coaching and leadership across Operations. This role will develop, support and drive all group wide people initiatives within Operations.

Main Accountabilities

  • Responsible for partnering with portfolio to develop, implement and deliver group wide people related solutions to address business challenges;
  • Responsible for providing and executing people strategies for new venue acquisitions or developments and existing venues;
  • Responsible for building strong relationships with key Senior Management across the business and contributing in Senior Forums to influence change across the portfolios;
  • Responsible for coaching, mentoring and upskilling managers in effective people management practices;
  • Responsible for enabling internal movements across operations to meet current and future talent requirements and deliver robust succession plans;
  • Partner with the Talent Team to source and deliver best on planet talent to the business with a focus on management roles
  • Responsible for the support and execution of senior operational recruitment across the group;
  • Responsible for ensuring business risks are mitigated and all employees are provided fair and equal opportunities;
  • Responsible for identifying training gaps, creating plans and facilitating sessions as operationally required;
  • Responsible for the lodgment and management of all visa categories and immigration compliance;
  • Partner with Return to Work specialist to ensure managers follow best practice injury management principles;
  • Responsible for ensuring that operational updates and information is cascaded to the appropriate functions within the People Experience Team;
  • Responsible for managing industrial relations risk, HIGA protection and closely managing employee relations to minimise risk;
  • Responsible for maintaining a large number of professional and beneficial relationships with Partners and
  • Responsible for supporting the delivery of group wide People initiatives and projects, both leading, creating, implementation and contribution;
  • Accountable as a Merivale Ambassador to enhance the guest experience wherever possible;

Core Career Experiences, Behaviours & Skills

  • HR Generalist experience with strong HR Operational skills
  • Business partnering experience in a similar role within medium-large sized business - hospitality or retail
  • Proven ability to work with key stakeholders across a range of leadership roles
  • Ability to work within a team environment and autonomously
  • Sound understanding of employment law and application of Awards
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative ability
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office ability (Word, Powerpoint, Excel & Outlook) and experience of using HRIS/software
