Toy Designer for coveted international company!

Experienced in Design/Product Development within the toy category? This could be the role for you!

This company is constantly looking at innovative and extremely creative ways of expanding their ranges across both Boys & Girls product, so this Senior Designer role offers great scope and the chance to develop your career within an international business.

As the Senior Designer you will have commercial creative flair with experience of travelling to, and working with, overseas suppliers to design & develop fashionable toys across both the girls & boys categories.

Experience in the Adobe Design Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator) & solidworks is a must along with the ability to think in 3D, A solid understanding of (but not limited to)

  • tooling / injection moulding / moulding of hard goods
  • plastics - material selection, properties and specification
  • production and assembly of plastic consumer items
  • printing processes

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and drive innovative, market-leading design concepts that are on-trend, on price, and suitable for production;
  • Collaborating with the Design team to assist in the further development of products from approved concept through to production;
  • Incorporate factors influencing product design such as cost, selection of materials, production methods, new technologies, safety/quality assurance, trends, ergonomics, play pattern, etc;
  • Create technical specification packages;
  • Design products from buying trips using Photoshop/Illustrator as the means to communicate the ideas to the overseas suppliers
  • Work with overseas suppliers to obtain price-competitive samples and top selling ranges
  • Ensure that products designed meet QA requirements
  • Constantly look at expanding the range and developing additional brands
