PRODUCT MANAGER / DEVELOPER - Accessories & hard goods

My Client is a long established wholesaler of Accessories - across travel goods, accessories & gifts. They are looking for an experienced Product Manager / Developer to ensure all product ranges are ready for release to the various retailers by developing concise merchandising assortment plans. Responsible for developing costings/pricing matrixes for this travel & accessories category

This is a senior position within the company therefore we are seeking an individual who has a wealth of industry experience coupled with superior product development/design/retail knowledge.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure key standards of quality and design are maintained as well as meeting budgeted margins at all times. In addition, you will work closely with a team of Merchandisers, Graphics and Designers to create travel accessories that enhances customer profile and positioning in the marketplace.

The key function of this role is to continue developing the product range from conception to delivery. Independent and self-motivated you will be responsible for developing a range of merchandise capable of achieving strong customer response.

It is essential you utilize the brands previous success with regards to best sellers & history whilst ensuring the product is innovative and commercially appealing. A background working within accessories product that covers hard goods & travel will be ideal as will a strong understanding of overseas trends and styling. An understanding of branding initiatives, budgetary and financial responsibilities will be complimentary to your design acumen.

Managing through your team of experienced personel a combination of local and off-shore production activities will require strong organisational skills to ensure effective and smooth management of all key responsibilities. It is also essential you have an understanding of the design process; an awareness of forthcoming seasonal trends & colours both locally & overseas.

Previous experience working within a Product Development/Buying and or Design related environment is critical to ensure an appreciation for managing the delivery of the highest quality accessories.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A 'hands-on' manager with a high-level understanding of domestic/global accessories & travel trends
  • Excellent time management and MS office skills
  • Commercial thinker with sound business acumen
